Check the company behind the application

Call /v1/email on the contact address and /v1/domain on the company's domain. A two-week-old domain, a free-mail contact for a claimed company, or a domain with no mail setup is worth a second look.

Two checks, one review

Both answers come back with their flags and facts, so a reviewer can see why an application was held.

/v1/email

Contact address

classification.account_type tells a business address from free webmail, and role accounts such as sales@ are flagged.

/v1/domain

Company domain

Registration date when on record, active, parked or dead status, and mail host, MX, SPF and DMARC for the domain the applicant claims.

Your policy

The match rule is yours

Compare the contact's domain with the claimed company domain in your own code. You get both verdicts, not a match score.

Practical questions

Does this verify that the company exists?

No. Business registration and identity checks are separate. EmailScore tells you what the address and the domain are, which helps decide which applications need that deeper review.

How many credits does an application use?

Two, if you check both the contact address and the company domain. An email check already includes its own domain's verdict, so a separate domain check is only needed when the claimed company domain differs.
