Frequently Asked Questions About Pricing
How do credits work across endpoints?
POST /v1/email uses 1 credit per address, and its response already includes the domain verdict. POST /v1/domain uses 1 credit per domain. Each entry in a bulk request uses 1 credit. POST /v1/bounce/diagnose uses 5 credits. Your monthly allowance and credit packs use the same unit.
What happens after my monthly allowance?
Paid plans keep working. Credit packs are used first; after that, checks are billed at your plan's rate per 1,000 credits on your next invoice, so a busy day never blocks a signup. The free Developer allowance stops at 1,000 credits unless you add a credit pack.
Can I combine a subscription with credit packs?
Yes. Your monthly allowance is used first, then credit packs, then your plan's rate after the allowance.
What happens if I go over my request rate?
Requests above your plan's rate get HTTP 429 with a Retry-After header and use no credits. The rate applies to your whole account, across all its API keys. A bulk request counts as one request, however many entries it contains.
Do bulk checks cost less?
No. Each entry uses 1 credit, the same as a single check. Bulk takes up to 10,000 entries per request and needs an account.
Do pay-as-you-go credits expire?
Pay-as-you-go credits do not expire. They remain available until consumed.
Where can I manage my subscription?
Use your account dashboard and the billing portal to review your subscription and available billing actions.
Is the domain check included when I call /v1/email?
Yes. /v1/email runs the same domain check as /v1/domain and returns it as domain_verdict, at no extra credit. Call /v1/domain when you only have a domain, such as a workspace claim or a custom domain.
Does every workflow cost one credit?
No. An address check costs 1 credit per address; a bounce diagnosis costs 5 credits per evaluation. A monthly credit allowance is not an equivalent number of bounce diagnoses.
How is submitted data handled?
Email checks process submitted addresses and may perform DNS lookups. Diagnostic processing can use an external service when configured, and debug logging can include submitted addresses. Review data-handling information before submitting personal data.
